Sophie Calle

I have been lamenting the fact that Simon and I could not go to the Venice Biennale this year. We have been to the last two; so today I am posting some of my favourite artists from the 2007 biennale, starting with Sophie Calle.

This is a translation of the e-mail that Calle's lover sent to her, to end their relationship.
Appalled at his callousness she asked 107 women to express this letter in any way they felt. Some danced, sang, cried, peeled onions(!). It was written in barcode and braille!

This seemed such a simple idea at first, but became more profound the more I thought about. I am so glad that I got to see this particular work.

Take Care Of Yourself
